WE HAVE A SEAT JUST FOR YOU.
2010

Magnolias
by Robert Harling
Truvy’s
beauty salon is where all the ladies who are “anybody”
come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant,
Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married),
the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and
free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser; an
eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet
tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter,
Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a “good
ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few
acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play
moves toward tragedy when Shelby has to make some tough choices.
Her actions affect the others, but also draw on their underlying
strength and love.

Annie
Book by Thomas Meehan, Music by
Charles Strouse. Lyrics
by Martin Charnin. Based on the Tribune Media Service Comic
Strip “Little Orphan Annie”
Leapin’
Lizards! The spunky comic strip heroine takes our center-stage
this summer! Annie is a spunky orphan determined to find the
parents who abandoned her on the doorstep of an orphanage
run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled
adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations,
befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and finds a
new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal
secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Well
known and well loved songs include “Little Girls,”
“Hard Knock Life,” and, of course, “Tomorrow.”
It may be more than just a day away, but there’s not
long to wait for our production of this musical classic.

Lion
In Winter
by
James Goldman
King Henry
II of England has three sons by Eleanor of Aquitaine: Richard,
Geoffrey, and John. He wants the kingdom to stay united
after his death, but all three sons want to rule and it
is likely to be torn apart by revolution. Henry favors the
youngest John, while Eleanor favors the eldest, Richard.
Middle son Geoffrey hopes to play both ends against each
other and come out on top. Henry would like to have another
heir by his mistress Alais, but that would only add to the
confusion. Uneasy is the head on which the crown lies, and
uneasy the truce between a matchless king and queen.

| The
Emperor's New Clothes
by Michele L. Vacca
EmEmperor
Abu Abdullah Abdul spends all his time and country’s
gold on clothes, to the point that the treasury is almost
empty and the Prime Minister is forced to put a tax on peanut
butter. A Pompous Proclamation lures two swindlers who brag
that the clothes they create will possess a “mysterious,
peculiar quality:” they will be invisible to the “dull
and foolish” and to those “unfit for their positions.”
The Emperor’s wife and Granny discover the plot, but
decide to let him find out for himself. Maybe all this will
teach him a good lesson. Will the swindlers get away with
it? Will the Emperor like his new clothes? Will peanut butter
ever be affordable again?
